Security

Security and privacy.

Pending only requests the access needed to understand your responsibilities.

Connected communication

Connect a supported source, or use email forwarding when you prefer not to connect your inbox. Connection methods vary by provider. For example, Gmail connects through Google’s OAuth flow only after your explicit permission, and your Google password is never shared with Pending.

Supported sources:

  • Gmail
  • Outlook / Microsoft 365
  • iCloud Mail
  • Slack
  • Email forwarding / Other email — no direct account connection

Pending uses read-only access to:

  • Identify responsibilities in your connected communication
  • Understand and maintain your responsibilities
  • Never send, modify or delete emails
  • Disconnect a source anytime

Your communication stays under your control.

Read-only access. Never sends emails. Never modifies emails. Disconnect anytime.

90 Days

Completed responsibility email context is automatically removed after 90 days.

Read-only access

Pending uses read-only access to understand your connected communication and identify what you're responsible for. It never sends or modifies your emails.

Never sends emails

No automated replies, no draft generation, no silent actions on your behalf.

Never modifies emails

No sending, replying, archiving, or modifying anything in your account.

Store email context

Pending only retains relevant email context when it helps understand your responsibilities. Stored email context for completed responsibilities is automatically removed after 90 days, while basic responsibility information and necessary metadata remain. You can turn off Store email context in Settings if you don't want Pending to retain email content after processing.

Delete a responsibility, delete the context

Removing a pending item removes the message excerpt and metadata that came with it.

Disconnect anytime

Disconnect a communication source anytime to stop Pending from accessing new communication from that source.

Encrypted connections

Communication between your browser, your connected sources, and Pending uses HTTPS/TLS throughout.

Prefer not to connect your inbox?

Use automatic email forwarding or forward individual emails manually.
