Connecting Your Accounts
The communication sources Pending supports, how each connection works, and how to disconnect one.
What you can connect
Pending supports Gmail, Outlook/Microsoft 365, iCloud Mail, Slack, and email forwarding. Connections are managed from within Pending, and each one can be removed at any time.
Gmail
Connecting Gmail supports two options: standard Google authorization with Google’s read-only Gmail permission, or an App Password connection. With either option, Pending can read the messages you authorize but cannot send, edit, delete, archive, or otherwise modify anything in your account. Read more in the Privacy Policy.
Outlook and Microsoft 365
Pending connects to Outlook and Microsoft 365 mailboxes for read-only access to your messages, the same way it treats Gmail. Pending never modifies your mailbox.
iCloud Mail
iCloud Mail is connected with an Apple app-specific password created for Pending. If you later delete your Pending account, Pending removes its stored copy of that password but cannot revoke it at Apple. You can revoke it yourself through your Apple account settings.
Slack
Connecting Slack lets Pending read the conversations you authorize so responsibilities assigned in channels and direct messages are tracked like email.
Email forwarding
If you prefer not to connect an account, you can forward individual emails to the forwarding address Pending provides. This is a lighter way to bring in the messages that matter without granting broad access.
Disconnecting a source
Disconnecting a source stops Pending from accessing new communications through that connection. It does not automatically delete responsibilities, history, or communication context already received. If you want Pending to forget message content it has already seen, see Privacy, Data & Billing.
