Understanding Your Daily Brief
What each section of your Daily Brief means: Responsibilities, Tomorrow, Waiting on Others, Snoozed, and Handled.
One calm view of what is on your plate
Your Daily Brief is the home screen in Pending. It groups everything by what it needs from you right now, so the most important thing is always at the top and everything else is a glance away.
The five sections
- Your Responsibilities: things that are yours and need your attention now.
- Tomorrow: responsibilities you have deliberately set aside until tomorrow. They return automatically the next morning.
- Waiting on Others: items where someone else holds the next move. Pending keeps them visible so you know what you are owed.
- Snoozed: responsibilities you have temporarily set aside until a time you choose. They return automatically when that time arrives.
- Handled: completed work, kept for reference rather than deleted.
How they differ
The sections differ by where the next move sits and who controls the timing. Your Responsibilities means the next move is yours. Waiting on Others means it is not. Tomorrow and Snoozed are both set aside on purpose: Tomorrow holds until the next morning, while Snoozed holds until a time you choose. A responsibility with a future due date does not automatically move to Tomorrow; it stays in Your Responsibilities unless you set it aside yourself. Setting something aside changes when it returns to your attention, not how Pending maintains it: Pending keeps tracking the underlying conversation while an item is in Tomorrow or Snoozed. Handled needs no move at all. Responsibilities move between these states as conversations evolve, without you having to re-sort anything.
